Instagram can be the best way to share your photos and videos with likes coming to your posts from all over the world. Uploading a photo through PC may be as easy as ABC but how do you upload a video to your Insta account from your PC? You may have come across several paid methods for that which is not the most appropriate way to do that. Sure you can upload videos to your Instagram account through your PC without paying a single penny. Follow these steps and your video will be up on your wall without any money spent.
Crop The Video
You may know a bundle of tools to crop or trim your videos but to narrow your ideas down, we’ll recommend ShotCut. It’s a free of cost editor which not only crops a video but also can perform tons of other functionalities. To check them out, simply open the ShotCut app once you have installed it and then select the screen icon to see video effects.
For cropping, head to the Crop option and use the sliders to choose the edges of the frame of the part which you want to keep. adjust how much is trimmed off each edge, taking care to make it a neat square.
Trim The Video
Once cropped according to the frame you wanna keep, now its turn for the trimming tool. Just drag and drop the video from the preview window onto the timeline at the bottom of the screen. Just like any trimming option, choose the starting and ending points of the part of the video that you want to keep. Now click the Split at Playhead button. If you don’t know about it, it is actually the small rectangle divided by a dotted line. To clear the unwanted part at the starting and the ending.
The last part of this step is to click File > Export Video and select MP4 as the format. Also, change the aspect ratio to 1:1. When you’ll click the Export button, enter a file name and click Save. When all the changes will take place ( shown in the progress bar on the right-hand side), you’re ready to upload it to Instagram.
Upload The Video
Here comes the most important part. Sign up for a Dropbox account if you haven’t already and download its desktop app. Just like a normal folder, it will be shown in your Windows Explorer and anything you paste into it will be automatically uploaded to the cloud which is the safest place for your data. Now drag and drop the edited video into your new Dropbox folder. Now the video is in your Dropbox and you need to upload it through the app version.
Simply install the Dropbox app on your smartphone and open up your account. From here, you can upload the video to your Instagram account through the app by tapping the ‘Export’ button. Here, among other options, you’ll see the Instagram option. Just click it and it will take you to the upload screen.
