HMD Global just unveiled its new flagship device named Nokia 8 Sirocco at MWC. According to HMD the Nokia 8 Sirocco is made for their fans. That features a premium design, build and curved pOLED display with a Zeiss branded dual camera setup at the back.
The Nokia 8 Sirocco is covered with a vacuum molded Gorilla Glass 5 coating on its display. That then extends to the sides of the phone as well, just like on the Galaxy S9. Aside from that the phone is also designed from a single block of stainless steel, giving it a rigid structure. But when it comes to dust and water resistance the phone only feature IP67 certification, instead of the current IP68 standard.
In terms of specs the Nokia 8 Sirocco comes equipped with a 5.5 inch display. That supports a resolution of 2K on a pOLED display. There is also the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 running under the hood, coupled with 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Where everything will be powered by a 3260mAh battery inside. Though it would have been nice if Nokia had went with the Snapdragon 845 instead of last years power house.
One of the unique feature of the Nokia 8 Sirocco is its dual camera setup. That sports a pair of 12MP wide angle and 13MP telephoto cameras. While at the front the phone comes equipped with a 5MP camera instead. The Nokia 8 Sirocco also features a new camera software that has been tuned and also comes with pro manual mode, by popular demand.
The new Nokia phone from HMD Global comes with all the bells and whistles of a 2018 flagship phone. Something that only Nokia was missing on. But also makes it quit on the headphone jack like most of its competitors. Though the decision is justifiable with such a thin design.
What do you think about the new flagship from HMD Global?
