If the affordable Nokia 3 was not an option for you. Then HMD Global is hiding even a cheaper Android smartphone up their sleeves. But this new Android smartphone has already been approved by the FCC. While the famous tipster named Evan Blass leaked a render showing how the smartphone look. Which is going to be known as Nokia 2.
The Nokia 2 as seen in the render will be available in two different colors. That includes a Black and white/silver variant. While the smartphone does carry a noticeable difference over its other versions. Which this time around does not include capacitive touch buttons. Being a cheap smartphone the Nokia 2 is also rumored to come equipped with a 5 inch display. That will support a resolution of 1280 x 720. There will also be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 running under the hood. Coupled with 1GB of RAM. While the biggest advantage on the upcoming Nokia 2 is its battery life. As the smartphone is rumored to come equipped with a 4000mAh battery. That should provide up to two days of usage.
On the software side of things the upcoming Nokia 2 like its other models will also be running on Android Nougat out of the box. Which should likely get updated to Android Oreo when it arrives. As Nokia did make a statement saying that even its Nokia 3 smartphone will be shifting to the next Android version.
Though the 1GB of RAM might be an issue for even a smartphone like the Nokia 2. Because even the Nokia 3 is a poor performer. So don’t have any high hopes for the Nokia 2 when it gets launched. Though that should be expected from a smartphone that is in the $100 range. But then there are Chinese smartphone manufactures who offer better deals with the same price.
There is still no details on when the smartphone will get launched or its price tag. But do expect it to be even lower than the current affordable Nokia 3 smartphone, which costs around $160 unlocked.
