Online advertising is one of the best tools that companies used to advertise their products. Similarly, we see different app ads at Play Store and other websites. Google announced to ban all lockscreen ads from the official Play Store for Android devices.
The company has been providing a major source of the advertisement for many companies, but now Google will take some stance actions against the online advertisement of lockscreen ads. According to the report, the company stated as:
“Google Play supports a variety of monetization strategies to benefit developers and users, including paid distribution, in-app products, subscriptions, and ad-based models.”
However, the company is going to strict for the online advertisement of lockscreen ads, but it will remain same with the ban of deceptive or disruptive ads. Google advised apps owner companies limit their promotional ads within their apps. The company is seeking sources of ads to lock screen. As the report stated:
Unless the exclusive purpose of the app is that of a lockscreen, apps may not introduce ads or features that monetize the locked display of a device. Until now, even the legitimate apps have displayed ads on the lockscreen as this behavior is not only limited to shady, lesser known applications.
Now no one lockscreen app will be allowed to show its ads on Play Store, the only ads can be seen on officially lockscreen apps. Already some actions are taken by the developers at Google Play Store to remove such a malicious apps ads on other apps. Some fake apps having malware and other virus damage your android system very badly, due to such reasons, Google are taking steps to restrict such ads.
