Get ready Pixel fans, Google is aiming to release the second iteration of the flagship Pixel smartphone. The smartphones that are most probably named as Walleye and Muskie are going to take over the Android market as expected by most of the Android Gurus.
Although it hasn’t been a long time since Google released its first smartphone, Pixel with a second variant having a comparatively larger screen, this time, the company is looking forward to delivering something more.
Pixel 2 and 2B May Roll Out This Fall
After the interview of Rick Osterloh, head at Google Hardware, the launch of the second iteration of Google Pixel is confirmed. The dates for the release, however, have different reports and for a good reason. Google seems to be planning some tweaks for the users so that the Walleye and Muskie may be termed as two of the best flagship smartphones of the time. We have already covered some basics about the two phones in one of our articles.
What’s There Under The Hood
Talking about the specifications of these phones, the leaks suggest some major upgrades necessary for them to survive in this market of tough competition. Not much is known about the details of the specifications but a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC fueling up the phone is for sure. Also, the display and the design features are explained below.
The biggest upgrade in the Pixel 2 and 2B seems to be in the display area which will allow users to have a hands-on experience on the company’s all-new flexible OLED screens. Currently, Google depends upon Samsung for the production of its screen panels but now they have decided to shift to LG for the display and they have already invested a hefty price in this regard.
If LG’s experiment goes well, this may result in a partnership between the two tech giants and curved OLED panels may also become a trend in the future. As iPhone 8 is also rumored to have a similar kind of technology.
In the race of removing all the bezels from the smartphones, Google is not lacking behind as they have decided to get rid of the headphone jack just like the iPhone 7. This is just a rumor for now and needs confirmation from the company but if it stands true, this is going to be a big frustration for Pixel lovers.
When Is The Pixel 2 Rolling Out?
Well, there are no firm dates about the release but keeping in mind the convention, Google may roll out these devices this fall particularly in the month of October. All good news aside, this device is expected to come with a price hike of nearly $50. You may opt the smaller option in order to save up your cost.
