Last week, a truly astonishing thing occurred at Epic Games HQ. A 14-year-old kid was sued for cheating in the Fortnite game. You can’t trust these toddlers I tell you! But the mother of the kid was furious over it and sent a letter to the judge in charge of the case. The letter demanded not to publish the guilty’s name and to have a soft hand for the young guy.
Epic Games Continues The Legal Procedure
The world had to see such days where a 14-year old has cheated in a game and the company is stubborn more than the child himself to call of the legal procedure. Epic Games says that they weren’t aware of the age factor of the defendant:
We did not violate Rule 5.2(a) or Local Civil Rule 17.2 because we did not know when we filed the papers that Defendant is a minor.
This explanation doesn’t set the child free as they are still proceeding with the case. Moreover, another cheater in Fortnite has come to the studios’ attention and they have released his name i.e. ‘Charles Vraspir‘.
This guy happens to be the one behind writing cheat codes for the game which is definitely causing trouble for the game producers. In this case, the company has warned him not to produce any such content which falls under the category of creating cheat codes.
