Even though the new Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are the fastest iPhone’s yet. Still the only visual difference between the two new Apple iPhone’s and its predecessor is the new glass back. Though one would think that fixing the new glass back would be same as getting the front screen repaired. Well sadly that is no longer the case with the new Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. As according to AppleInsider replacing the front screen is not same as replacing the back one.
AppleCare+ will now be charging way more for replacing the backside compared to the front. Where Apple will be charging the same $29 for the screen replacement. While for the back glass replacement Apple will now be charging $99 plus tax. Which now comes under the ‘’other damaged’’ category. We are not sure why the glass back cost more than the front screen of the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. But maybe Apple is charging more for the extra hard work that is required in replacing the glass back.
The story doesn’t end here though as AppleCare+ only covers up to two accidental damages. After which users would need to pay a hefty price to fix the glass back on their iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. That sums up to a total of $349 for the iPhone 8 and $399 for the iPhone 8 Plus. Apple have also pushed the prices on AppleCare+ during the last couple of weeks. Where users will now have to pay $20 extra for older iPhone models. So be careful with your newly owned Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Because fixing the phone now might cost your more than what you paid for it.
What do you think about the new AppleCare+ pricing for the new Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. Is Apple asking too much for fixing the new iPhone models?
