Alongside the upcoming new Skylake X and Kabylake X processors from Intel. The company also announced a new X299 socket for it. Where we have seen a lot of manufactures come up with their own ideas. But what EVGA have to offer are the most interesting ones. On the X299 platform from Intel, EVGA have announced three new motherboards. Which includes the EVGA X299 Dark, EVGA X299 FTW and the EVGA micro-ATX X299 Micro motherboard.
Among the three the EVGA X299 Dark is their top of the line motherboard. What’s unique about this motherboard is the cooling solution for its X299 chipset. Where instead of just using a typical heatsink, the motherboard comes equipped with a fan. Which not only cools the X299 chipset but the M.2 skits and drives as well. Aside from that the motherboard also supports quad channel memory, with support for up to 64GB RAM at a maximum 4133MHz speed. There are also a total of 4 PCIe slots with SLI support, 8 SATA ports and 2 U.2 or M.2 slots. Aside from that the motherboard also comes with triple BIOS support.
The EVGA X299 on the other hand does not come with an active cooling solution that its flagship model does. Aside from that the motherboard also comes with 3 PCIe slots and dual bios support. Though users who will opt for this motherboard will have support for up to 128GB of DDR4 RAM, made possible with eight memory slots. While the maximum speed supported by the motherboard is the same 4133MHz.
Lastly the smaller EVGA X299 Micro also doesn’t skip out on anything, aside from its form factor. Where the motherboard comes equipped with 4 memory slots. That can support up to 64GB of DDR4 4133MHz RAM. Though in terms of ports the motherboard only comes with 6 SATA ports, 1 key M 80mm M.2 slot and 1 Key E vertical M.2 slot.
These are the three motherboard that EVGA will be offering on the new X299 platform. Though no details were announced on the pricing of the motherboards as of yet.
