To get the most out of your graphics card, air cooling is not the best option available. While a lot of us are also skeptical about water cooling our expensive graphics card. With a custom water block when it comes to water cooling. Well in this area companies like EVGA have us covered, as EVGA just announced their new GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid Gaming GPU. Which combines the aspect of both air cooling and water cooling into a single cooler.
Currently EVGA is offering over seven variants of their GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. Which are all equipped with an air cooler. While the new EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid Gaming GPU, would be their first offering in EVGA’s hybrid series. Where the graphics card also comes with EVGA’s new iCX technology. With the help of which users would be able to monitor everything that’s necessary. That includes around nine sensors in total that are placed on the PCB and can be monitored through the EVGA Precision XOC utility.
The new hybrid GTX 1080 Ti graphics card also comes with a generous overclock as well. Where the base and boost clocks on the hybrid card are 1556MHz and 1670MHz respectively. Let’s just say that the hybrid GTX 1080 Ti has a lot more potential than its factory overclock from EVGA. We haven’t tested the card, but the EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid Gaming GPU should be able to hit 2GHz easily. With temps that are cool and favorable under working conditions.
According to EVGA where a normal GTX 1080 Ti would hit 80C under load. Their hybrid GTX 1080 Ti can stay relatively cooler under 45C. While the memory on the hybrid GTX 1080 Ti is also cooled which should retain its temps under 60C. Compared to a normal GTX 1080 Ti which can go as high as 85C.
All of this sure is pretty impressive, but it does come with a premium. Where in order to get one of these, users would need to pay a price tag of $810.
