Delta Airlines front plane Delta Air Lines Delay Flights Returning To Normal After Systems IT Outage

Delta Air Lines suffer a system outage which causes the delay and cancellations of 170 flight. The Airline said that is recovering from the system outage.

The statement posted on the Atlanta-based airline’s website at 11:45 p.m., CEO Ed Bastian apologized to customers who were impacted by this “frustrating situation.”

The outage began at around 8 p.m on Sunday night which also takes down Delta Airlines website and crashed the flight tracker page and the company’s app. Delta Air Lines is the world’s second largest airline in terms of airline companies revenue, Fleet size (1,330) and scheduled Passenger kilometers flown by airline worldwide serving more than 129 million people.

According to the Associated Press, the outage occurs due to “automation issues.” This is the second time for Delta to suffered technical problems, The Airlines face the same issue last year in August.

Later Delta Release the Following Statement:

“Delta teams are expeditiously working to fix a systems outage that has resulted in departure delays and cancellations. Not all of these delays and cancellations are being reflected on Delta systems, including delta.com, the Fly Delta App, airport information screens or through Reservations agents.
