For those of you who have been waiting for Mini-ITX motherboard here’s your chance. Some of you may not like BIOSTAR but they are definitely committed to Ryzen. One thing to notice that they are releasing for both the X370 and B350 chipsets and there’s no clue why.
Every report we’ve seen so far discussed all the similarities and breeze right through any differences and we were wondering why, until we we went to the official specifications but we cannot find any. If you run down to the bottom of the specification page, you’ll see this notice.
And of course we know the main differences between the B350 and X370 boil down to essentially dual GPU’s and some more i/o options. Obviously with the minimal size are limit in room and both board only come with a single PCI express slot and assumingly we’ll see more USB ports or something but why release the specs if they are just going to change.
They have also mentioned Windows 7 support which is technically correct but as we all know Microsoft doesn’t support Windows 7 on Ryzen so, we don’t know why they have mentioned that.
Either way the specs are pretty resealable, the Rear I/O sports 1 PS/2 port, 1 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port, 1 USB 3.1 Type-A Gen 2 port, 4 USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, 1 HDMI connector, 1 DVID connector. Internally we have the same typical specs but with 4 SATA3 connectors and M.2 slot, dual RAM support for up to 3200 mhz on both but AMD consider this an overclock so, you do loose your warranty.
Lastly we have got couple of LED headers from some great modding potential. This includes allowing you to have some cool controls like playing with the music etc. BioStar is also touting their new Fly.Net utility that ramps up and down your land bandwidth depending on your needs. The MSRP for X370 is $129 and for B350 is $109.
Given their specs they aren’t really bad boards for the price at all and if you are looking and if you are looking to make a tiny build they could be right for you.
