Everything was going in the favor of Battlefront II a few days ago but now it seems like the game is facing some really heavy criticism. The monetization issue was long held in the debate and now that review copies have been sent out. What still remains unknown is that when the heroes like Darth Vader and Boba Fett will roll out of the box of mystery.
The characters will come at a hefty price of 60,000 credits and that’s too much for the most of us. The company has come up with an explanation that we all have been hearing about. EA says that spending 60,000 credits will give you a sense of accomplishment and that the lower price tag will make it seem easy.
A recent Reddit post by the community manager of the game says:
The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes. As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we’re looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis.
We’ll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay. We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets. Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can.
