Audi launches its flagship car powered with high tech NVIDIA at in event in Barcelona. The A8 2018 car is expected to be world’s first Level 3 autonomous cars that is going for the production. The car can drive itself.
NVIDIA and Audi signed the contract of partnership at the CES 2017 show for the working on the world first Level 4 self driving car in 2020. But now at this time, the company launched the first Level 3 self driving car for 2018. The car is powered by NVIDIA tech inside. According to the rumors the car is being processed.
Level 3 self driving cars can be best described as the “eyes off” for the drivers. That means the driver can easily take rest for a while and turn off the attention to the driving. The car automatically response any immediate situations that could be helpful for a user in emergency braking, but keep in mind drivers have to prepared to intervene within a limited time.
While on the other side, the Level 4 self driving car technology can be best described as “mind off”. The Level 4 is quiet similar as the Level 3, the only difference the driver doesn’t need too much attention while driving and in any case of emergency.
According to the report, Audi Chairman of the Board, Rupert Stadler specify the Audi A8 follow much more instructions to follow. He said the car has features of the AI Traffic Jam Pilot, Remote Park Pilot, Natural Voice Control and Swarm Intelligence.
That means the car is able to control during the driving in slow-moving traffic at up to 60 kilometers per hour. NVIDIA SoC is powered by Audi’s zSAF system and the system is further combined with LIDAR cameras, a radar and ultrasonic sensors that work for the driver in any emergency situation.
Moreover, the Audi A8 are powered by NVIDIA-powered MIB plus infotainment system. The car is possessed with two touchscreen, second-generation virtual cockpit, and the new rear seat system. The display controller system of A8 is quite impressive and is the best example of the similar technology oriented automobile.
