This information is a courtesy of Wccftech, during the interview with Geoff Keighley on YouTube live ARK: Survival Evolved developer actually did confirmed that his game is going to be enhanced for not only for PS4 Pro but also Xbox one X. And obviously Geoff Keighley did ask him what sort of enhancements we are talking about? And he was saying that things like better graphics, better shadows, a better graphical fidelity and all kind of graphical features which is great.
He also said that the Xbox One X version of the game is going to be much better than other versions not necessarily PC. It’s going to run at stable 60 FPS, he didn’t confirmed the resolution but it doesn’t seems to that they are not targeting 4k resolution at any of the consoles. And he also said that the game will run at 1080p 30FPS on PS4 Pro and 60 FPS on Xbox One X. Which is a great news because it is an open-world game and 60 FPS sounds nice.
What we want to talk about today is he doubled down on his comments on the game and Xbox One X and he actually compared the Xbox One X to GTX 1070 graphics card on PC. This is what he had to say:
“If you think about it, it’s kind of equivalent to a GTX 1070 maybe and the Xbox One X actually has 12GB of GDDR5 memory. It’s kind of like having a pretty high-end PC minus a lot of overhead due to the operating system on PC. So I would say it’s equivalent to a 16GB 1070 PC, and that’s a pretty good deal for $499.”
Now we don’t know why people get offended when they saw this, GTX 1070 is actually a 6.5 TFLOPS graphic card. Now with Polaris and Vega Xbox One X is pretty powerful machine, 6 TFLOPS of graphical power in comparison to 6.5. Also games are better optimized for consoles which will give you 20-30% performance gains.
ARK: Survival Evolved will be launched on August 8th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It will be available exclusively at GameStop in the USA for $159.99.
