Apple’s recently launched All-in-One iMac Pro is finally available for sale. Though it does come with a hefty price tag like all other Apple devices at a starting $5000.
It’s been a while since Apple last updated its iMac lineup. But it looks like all this wait was worth it as the new iMac Pro offers the new 8 core Xeon processors from Intel. That also comes coupled with 32GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and a shiny new Radeon Vega Pro graphics card with 8GB of VRAM. User also do have the option to customize their iMac Pro which can go all the way up to an 18 core Xeon Process. Coupled with 128GB of RAM, 4TB of storage and a 16GB Vega graphics card.
Apple is also claiming that its new iMac Pro will blow away its predecessor. But considering that the old iMac Pro is almost 4 years old. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, though for those of you who rely on Apple should notice a huge upgrade. Aside from that the iMac Pro also isn’t upgradable anymore. So do choose carefully what you will be needing for future. Considering that the maxed out version of the new iMac Pro costs $13,199.
In terms of design the new 2017 iMac Pro is the same. Which is also a bold move from Apple, managing everything in the same old body, with the same 5k display. But there are some subtle changes found on the outside. Which include things like a bigger air vent and a new space grey color with black accessories.
So in the end the only question remains regarding the new 2017 iMac Pro is whether you should go for it. Well it depend on the users. Whether they prefer modularity or just want to go with what Apple is offering right now. Because unlike the upcoming 2017 Mac Pro the 2017 iMac Pro is not future up-gradable.
