Apple of all companies have leaked the specs & performance of RX Vega 56 and RX Vega 64

Series of specifications have been leaked by Apple of all companies. This all comes down to an iMac Pro and some specs which have popped up on the internet. And what it tells us is the graphics if you look on the specifications on the Apple website.

They have Vega GPU Radeon Pro Vega 56 Graphic Processor with 8 GB of HBM2 memory or configurable to a Radeon Pro Vega 64 Graphics card with 16 GB of HBM2 memory. So, right there this is a very good indication of a couple of things.

The first is that card is going to come in two flavors 8 or 16 gigabytes of HBM2 memory. That is pretty much well known at this point, we know that AMD have indeed been twin with the idea of giving professionals more memory for obvious reasons; RAM is good and all that.

However, the crux of the matter is the naming of these two cards, Vega Radeon 56 and 64. We can most likely presume that these refers to number of NCU’s inside the GPU. For those who don’t know NCU is basically a collection of Stream processors. So, as we probably know AMD group 64 stream processors per CU in this case meaning that the full derivative in the 64 will have 4096 cores, the lower-end will have 3584 cores.

Further more we have information concerning the performance of these cards and that is 11 TFLOPS of a single precision performance and this is on top of 400 GB of memory bandwidth. And what does that tells us? It basically reinforces some of the information we have already had concerning the Frontier Edition but it also tells us a lower-end derivative of the card.

The Pro Vega is over three time faster than any previous iMac GPU, packing the pair of double-wide graphics card into a single slot all which translate into higher frame rates of virtual reality, real time free rendering, more lifelike special effects in gameplay at max settings. It’s one huge reason iMac Pro is power incarnate.
