Currently the only platform from Apple that is running an old hardware is the Mac Pro. Which being released back in the year 2006 is still running on the same specs. While Apple also announced that it will be bringing the new 18 core chip from Intel to their iMac Pro lineup. But nothing was said regarding their current Mac Pro platform.
Geekbench is one of the popular benching software out there. That is currently being used by a lot of tester out there. Though if you are not careful the scores can accidentally go online in Geekbench database. Which is what happened, as scores of the Apple Mac Pro running on the latest Core X lineup appeared on Geekbench.
The Mac Pro from Apple was spotted running on the Intel Core i9 7900X on Geekbench. Which is basically a 10 core extreme chip from Intel. Here the Apple Mac Pro was able to get a single core performance of 5110 points. While on the multi core side Apple Mac Pro was also able to achieve a high performance of 50589 points.
On the other hand the new Apple iMac Pro was also spotted on Geekbench running the same Intel chip. Though here the Apple iMac Pro was only able to gain a single core performance of 5362 points. While on the multi core performance the Apple iMac Pro showed a lower performance score of 39085 points. Which does point towards the fact that being an AIO system, the Apple iMac Pro won’t be able to performance as good as the Mac Pro.
These new scores on an Apple hardware is impressive. Though also expect the high end 18 core chip to also feature in both the Apple Mac and iMac Pro platforms. If Apple did launch the old Mac Pro with newer Intel Core X extreme chips.
