Google and Apple are two different identities and operates in different nature. Along this, both companies work together in some operations. Recently, Apple has confirmed that the company is relying on Google for Google Cloud Platform for iCloud.
However, the company didn’t reveal any information about the specific id. Apple has contracted with Samsung, Microsoft Azure and other reliable software for its iPhone and MacBooks. But the company the confirms Google only for encrypted iCloud account data.
Earlier in 2016, we heard the rumors of collaboration of Google and Apple for its iCloud storage. At that time, officials of both tech giants avoid any statement and not confirm the rumors. Apple allows search giant to add its multiple apps such as Calendar, Contacts, Photos and Videos, documents over iOS operating system. According to the report, officials of Apple stated as:
Each file is broken into chunks and encrypted by iCloud using AES-128 and a key derived from each chunk’s contents that utilizes SHA-256. The keys and the file’s metadata are stored by Apple in the user’s iCloud account. The encrypted chunks of the file are stored, without any user-identifying information, using third-party storage services, such as S3 and Google Cloud Platform.
The company didn’t reveal any further details about the collaboration. Apple always talks about the privacy of the users and promise to more secure system. When its allows Google for its multiple apps, what would about security if the Google able to visits users data.
