Nexus 5 users can access notification panel by just swiping down on the fingerprint.
Google equipped Pixel with certain features that were not extended to Nexus, though they wished to have in their flagships as well. One of such features was accessing notification panel via swiping down on the phone’s fingerprint.
But now the game goes balance.
The users of Nexus 5X too can enjoy jumping to their panels via the same route. The update comes from Google’s latest modification to Android 7.1.2.
It was already made clear through a discussion on Google platforms that they are evaluating the feature for better and effective performance, which might take a bit of time to update it on Nexus smartphones, they did it finally.
How to find the feature?
Install the latest developer preview on your device from developer.android.com. Go to the phone’s settings menu where it is listed under ‘Moves’.
However, the feature is yet to be released to Nexus 6P, which has the same fingerprint as that of Nexus 5, though it is hoped to be taking place very soon.
On the other hand, the Pixel’s fingerprint sensor has a different setup that displayed notification feature out-of-the-box. Therefore, it seemed to be really a task for Google to bring the two phones in step at least for this feature.
It is reported that when Google released its 7.1 update, it refrained from providing the particular functionality through fingerprint to Nexus users, who definitely felt dismayed.
However, with the recent Android 7.1.2 update, the company is compensating for the delay that took place on the other side of the smartphone lovers.
