Among many exclusive smartphones in China, the recently launched Nokia 7 is also one of them. But it looks like HMD Global might be planning to launch outside of China, staring with United States. The type of phones that HMD Global will be launching in the United States will have major support from carriers. Though same cannot be said about CDMA networks.
A new phone from Nokia was recently spotted in Geekbench. Which seems to be an improved version of the Chinese exclusive smartphone the Nokia 7. This new and improved version would be known as the Nokia 7 Plus. That comes equipped with an updated Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 process. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is an octa core processor, running all eight cores at 1.8GHz. While the current model comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 instead.
Aside from that the Nokia 7 Plus also runs on the latest version of Android Oreo 8.0. That comes coupled with 4GB of RAM according to the specs provided by Geekbenh bench-marking tool. Take all of this news with a grain of salt for now. Because nothing is confirmed yet from HMD Global, but do expect it to make its exclusive phones available for other markets in the coming months.
Nokia is also expected to launch a premium smartphone this year. That alongside carrying the latest and greatest will also come with a bezel-less design. A smartphone trend that Nokia haven’t picked up on yet. Because the current flagship device from HMD Global, the Nokia 8 still come with large bezels.
The next flagship phone from HMD Global will be known as the Nokia 9. That might get unveiled this year and might also feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor inside. This new phone from Nokia will also feature a bigger display with a bezel-less design. That will be targeted towards high end phones from other manufactures like Samsung and Apple.
