Though AMD VEGA is not here yet, it is considered to be the best that AMD has to offer. Where we are hoping AMD to offer something that should tackle the top of the line GTX 10 series from NVIDIA. At a relatively lower price, which is what AMD is famous for. Where we also saw some benchmarks showing the AMD VEGA performing lower than the GTX 1080 Ti and the Titan XP.
Now some new leaked benchmarks have appeared on the internet again. Where the upcoming AMD VEGA was bench-marked on 3DMark Time Spy. Though the results are the same and as you can see AMD VEGA is performing somewhere between the GTX 1070 and the GTX 1080.
According to the Time Spy benchmark AMD VEGA got a score of 5721. Which is lower compared to the GTX 1080 scoring 7152. While AMD VEGA does closes the gap between it and the GTX 1070. Where the GTX 1070 got a score of 5699. Keep in mind that these benchmarks were done using the latest AMD Ryzen 1800X CPU, instead of an Intel CPU.
At this point we are not sure what AMD will be aiming for with their upcoming VEGA GPU. Because if you look at the benchmarks AMD VEGA is not on par with the GTX 1080 even. While the new GTX 1080 Ti is way ahead of its league with a score of 9521. So then what is AMD aiming for with their VEGA GPU? Maybe AMD is planning to do the same thing it did with its Polaris lineup. Offering a GPU with half the price of its competitor with similar performance.
For now that is all we known regarding the upcoming AMD VEGA GPU. Where AMD is planning to launch it two months from now. Then we would finally have something physical to judge the situation with. Whether AMD is aiming for RAW performance or something with a price to performance ratio.
