If you are still not sure whether AMD Ryzen should be your next CPU, then we have a treat for you. Benchmarks have been leaked on the internet regarding the Ryzen 5 1600X CPU beating its Intel counterpart the Intel 6850k.
As you can see from the charts the Ryzen 5 1600X is clearly beating the Intel 6850K in both the single and multi-core scores. If you don’t see any large lead in the scores between the two processors, well here is the catch. AMD Ryzen 5 1600X has an MSRP of $259 while the Intel Core i7 6850k costs around $610. Now AMD is making a clear picture about what their buyers are going to get. A cheaper CPU that performs like a beast.
Do note that both the CPU’s have 6 cores and 12 threads. AMD Ryzen R5 1600X has a core clock of 3.3GHz with a boost clock of 3.7GHz compared to the 3.9GHz boost clock on the Intel i7 6850K. This shows how much of a performance gap AMD has filled with their newly designed architecture for their processors.
There were others leaks as well where the AMD processor was tested on GPU-Z a software that calculates both the single and multi-thread capabilities of a processor. AMD Ryzen R5 1600X was able to achieve a score of 1888 on single core while a score of 12544 on the multi-core. This level of performance will sure give Intel a blow, as the chips would have even more potential when they are overclocked with an aftermarket cooler.
AMD is finally ready to compete with Intel and soon Intel would realize that. Intel hasbeen the leader of the silicon market till now as the company did charge a very high premium on their high end processors. Maybe after the launch of Ryzen Intel might rethink their pricing strategy.
