AMD is finally ready to give it their all, as gaming benchmarks regarding the upcoming VEGA graphics card just surfaced the internet. The VEGA graphics card used in the 3DMark benchmark is a reference model using a codename ‘687F:C1’.
Let’s looks at what kind of specs this new VEGA graphics card offers. Well it should be clear till now that the upcoming VEGA graphics card will be from AMD’s VEGA 10 Lineup. Where the leaked version comes with a frequency of 1630MHz. Aside from that the graphics card is also equipped with 8GB of HBM2 memory. That is able to push an effective 484 GB/s of memory bandwidth.
Aside from the above mentioned specs there is not a lot to known about this VEGA graphics card. But do expect it to have similar specs to what the current AMD VEGA Frontier Edition is offering. Which comes with 4096 stream processors, 256 TMUs, 64 compute units and 64 ROPS. Now let’s talk about the performance on this leaked VEGA graphics card.
Well surprisingly the leaked VEGA graphics card does perform up to its name. Where the graphics card was able to score 31873 in 3DMark 11. Which is higher than what Nvidia has achieved with their GTX 1080. That currently holds a score of 27618, while the GTX 1070 scores a lower 23608 instead. If these benchmarks are even a little close to what the upcoming VEGA graphics card will offer. Then we are looking a solid competitor from the red team AMD. Though when compared to the gaming champ GTX 1080 Ti the leaked AMD VEGA graphics card loses by a huge margin. As the GTX 1080 Ti currently holds a score of 38389 in 3DMark 11.
What do you think about these benchmarks? Will AMD be able to deliver high end performance on their VEGA platform, in order to beat Nvidia. Lets us known in the comment below.
