As Apple is all set to roll out the new iMac Pro, there are chances that the new powerful PC by the Cupertino team will feature Radeon Pro Vega graphics solutions. The interesting new broke out when Apple revealed the details about the upcoming PC.
What’s Special in Vega Series?
If you are not already aware of what a Vega series card is capable of, it is actually following the footprints of Radeon series. The Radeon R9 Fury used 2 Fiji variants
- 4096 cores (64 CUs)
- 3584 cores (56 CUs)
To follow the conventional path, AMD will do the same in Vega series. The news was confirmed in Apple iMac Pro specs so the news has a lot of credibility in it
Vega 56 or Vega 64?
There can be two options in Apple’s mind while assembling the new iMac and those are:
- Radeon Pro Vega 56 with 8GB HBM2 memory
- Radeon Pro Vega 64 with 16GB HBM2 memory
As you see the NCU count, it becomes obvious that the company will cut-down chips with 3584 cores, same as Radeon R9 Fury.
