Amazon’s smart speaker Echo Show is featured with the support for YouTube for watching videos. The Echo Show built-in screen and users are expecting to enjoy YouTube videos, but today unexpectedly YouTube remove the support for Amazon Echo Show smart speaker. According to the reports and rumors, the two of major players in the smart speaker market, Google and Amazon are “locking horns over how YouTube should work with Echo Show.” Amazon stated about the Google for the Support of the YouTube as:
Google made a change today at around 3 pm. YouTube used to be available to our shared customers on Echo Show. As of this afternoon, Google has chosen to no longer make YouTube available on Echo Show, without explanation and without notification to customers. There is no technical reason for that decision, which is disappointing and hurts both of our customers.
On contrast, Google says about Amazon in a statement as:
We’ve been in negotiations with Amazon for a long time, working towards an agreement that provides great experiences for customers on both platforms. Amazon’s implementation of YouTube on the Echo Show violates our terms of service, creating a broken user experience. We hope to be able to reach an agreement and resolve these issues soon.
However, disputes like that are not new thing in the tech world but from the past it ruins the companies performance and products. Remember, Google and Microsoft dispute for the YouTube app support for the Windows smartphone and that put the Windows smartphone in trouble. On result, Google block its services of YouTube support for the Windows smartphone.
Moreover, it seems the search giant is not happy with the Amazon Echo Show YouTube support. The users cannot take advantage of many YouTube features such as as subscribing to channels, automatic playback of next videos, and more from the Echo Smart Speaker.
