Alienware has always been known for their gaming laptops. Though the company certainly does produce quality gaming laptops. But compared to its competition, Alienware laptops have always been on the bulkier side. This is not the case with Alienware’s new R13 laptop. Which is still bulky, but way better than what Alienware used to offer. With a 21% reduction in thickness overall.
Don’t take us wrong, the new Alienware 13 R3 looks gorgeous, and is certainly build like a tank. As the chassis of Alienware 13 R3 is made out of aluminum. 2017 is the year of RGB lighting and in this area the new Alienware 13 R3 doesn’t come short. Alienware 13 R3 have four different lighting zones on its keyboard. Meaning users can add 4 different colors to these lighting zones. That’s not it as the trackpad is also illuminated and looks pretty cool in my suggestion.
Still not impressed? Well what if I tell you that the new Alienware 13 R3 also sports an OLED display. Yes, that’s true. Right now Alienware 13 R3 is the only gaming laptop that is equipped with one. An OLED display is the best thing, one can have on a laptop. Because of its deeper blacks. Blacks that are so black. That users won’t even notice if there are any bezzels around the display.
In terms of specs the new Alienware 13 R3 is equipped with a 13 inch OLED display that supports a resolution of 2560 x 1440P, Core i7 6700HQ quad-core processor, 16GB RAM, 512 GB SSD and a desktop grade GTX 1060 6GB. While only weighing in at 5.8 pounds.
For those of you who are interested in a FHD version of Alienware 13 R3. Well its available but then you won’t be able to cherish the OLED display. That only comes with QHD model of the Alienware 13 R3. But even then we would highly recommend opting for the OLED screen over the FHD screen.
