Last week the google rolled out the Android Nougat 7.1.2 the last version on its Nexus and pixel devices. The update was to fix the problems and improve the performance. Google was not expecting that after the latest updates there will be the issue for both devices.
After the updates, some users claimed that the fingerprint scanner is not working properly as they install the new updates. Keep in mind this was the general release of updates for the test and the final updates will be released as soon as possible.
As the problem is acknowledged by the Google that the fingerprint scanner is not recognized on the google device the company will fix the problem with the final release. The users are facing the problem as they can not lock or unlock their smartphones.
Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X users have reported the problem that the scanner is not recognizing their finger impressions. However, the problem facing is with the fingerprint scanner, but it seems strange the gestures are working normally and performing the functions as the earlier.
Some of the users deleted the saved fingerprint impressions and try to re-register, but at that, they face the same problems. This was a beta test that is running on the Google Nexus and the Pixel devices.
There is no confirmation how many users have faced the same problem, but one of the users said that he has the Android 7.1.2 Nougat updates on pixel device and the device is working properly. He said that he flashed the firmware manually.
This could be a temporary solution, users facing the fingerprint scanning problems on their Nexus or Google devices have to go with the full backup and manual flash the fingerprint image. The user after doing so failed to solve the issue can recommend to Google support so that Google fix the problem as soon as possible.
