Gamers have shown great interest in Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale and the figures that we have just received, are really worth sharing. Epic Games is celebrating over 40 million players and the interesting part is that almost 10 million players have been added to the list within just over one month. Moreover, up to 2 million concurrent users have been recorded, which takes it to the top gaming charts.
Fortnite Battle Royale came out into Early Access in September 2017 with an attempt to push down PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds to the second place. Though the game didn’t succeed in its plans, some impressive figures were achieved in this run. Fortnite’s lead systems designer, Eric Williamson gave an interview to PCGamesN where he said:
We’re really thrilled by the excitement for Battle Royale. At the same time, we see it as a challenge to continue iterating and improving our game. We’ve been releasing a lot of updates, almost every week really, to improve the core game and add new gameplay affecting stuff. We don’t really have any intention of slowing down there.
