In a matter of days, two cases have been reported claiming that they have fell victim to a fraud at Amazon. Apparently, the victims ordered AMD Ryzen processors at Amazon and when they received the package, the processors were fake. Although Amazon offered them a refund along with a gift card for compensation, still this doesn’t fill the trust gap created by the world’s biggest online seller.
Which Processor is it?
As soon as the processor was unboxed, the victim noticed it to be a rough conditioned, LGA based Intel CPU with the label of Intel removed in the most unprofessional way. Though the processor looked like a genuine Ryzen processor from outside the box as it had a Ryzen label on it but that was also fake.
Cases Were Reported On Reddit
Reddit being the most famous forum for such discussions, has helped others know about the scam as on 8th July 2017, the first such case was reported, followed by the second one recently, on the 15th of July. Examining the two cases closely, one may reach to a conclusion that both of the victims fell prey to the same scammer as both the processors were reported to be almost in the same condition.
How to Avoid Being Looted?
