Apple release the new iOS 11 updates at Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2017). Below are some interesting features, which Apple didn’t mention at the conference.
1. Mobile Data short key in the new control center design.
The most needed feature and flaw in the previous iOS updates were the lack of shortcut for accessing the mobile data. Many users find it difficult to access the settings and turn off the mobile data. With the new update, now user can reach the mobile data setting in the control center. The control center can be customized.
2. Renovative App Store design
Apple has redesigned its App Store for the first time in almost 9 years. Renovative App store provides ease to discover any content by scrolling in categories. The new ‘Today” tab display the latest and important applications. App Store will now offer even more apps and games also have a special section in the new App Store.
3. Screen recording
Another feature lacking in iPhone users was screen recording. Users install 3rd party apps to record a screen activity. Now it can be done with iOS 11 new update, without installing an extra application. With a single tap, you’ll be able to start recording the screen.
4. With Apple’s ‘Files’ app, users can access the file on your phone.
In the previous iOS version, Apple doesn’t give you direct access to all the files in your phone. With iOS 11, you can now access any the files on your phone except for files from applications.
5. Simplified lock screen
In iOS 11 updates the lock screen is also redesigned. Without touch id or passcode set up, you can unlock your device by a single swipe. So you’ll need to scroll up on the lock screen to see all the notifications.
6. Redesigned Storage Management
iOS 11 also bring some changes to the data storage and unused apps. Storage and Cloud Usage is renamed as Phone Storage. In the new User interface, it shows a graph of storage space by apps, photos, media and other.
7. Offload Unused Apps
iOS 11 updates now automatically delete unused apps to save space when you are low on storage. This will free up storage used by the app, but keep its documents and data. Reinstalling the app will place back your data if the app is still available in the App Store.you’re low on storage. All of the app’s data and documents are saved.
8. Apple Maps now include indoor floor plan mapping for shopping malls and airports.
Now you can find the floor plans of shopping malls and airports. It will help consumers to find the nearest gates for their flights and locate a store. The feature is now limited to major cities like Boston, New York Chicago, Hong Kong, London.
9. iPhone camera has now the ability to scan QR code.

In the previous iOS users install third party app to scan QR code. Now it can be done by the iPhone’s native camera.
10. ARKit for augmented reality
The most impressive application announced at WWDC17 is the ARKit. Apple is now ready to take on Google and Facebook and bring innovation in the world of game and applications.
